Brand-Driven Design.

Austin, TX

Located in Austin’s Rosedale neighborhood, Bumble’s headquarters transformed an existing commercial building through a thoughtful adaptive reuse approach that celebrated the structure’s mid-century roots. Drawing inspiration from historic photographs of the building’s original 1960s incarnation as Floorcraft Carpets, the design team carefully restored key architectural elements while reimagining the space for a modern workplace. Vintage materials, textures, and detailing informed the design language, creating a renewed environment that honors the building’s history while supporting Bumble’s dynamic and collaborative culture.

Mid-century landmark reimagined.

Bumble envisioned a workplace that reflected its distinctive brand, collaborative culture, and lifestyle-driven approach to work. Building on a deep understanding of the existing structure, the design team translated that vision into a one-of-a-kind environment inspired by imagery provided by Bumble and the interior design direction of JEI Design. Custom architectural elements, including the brand’s signature hexagonal motifs, were thoughtfully integrated throughout the space, creating an engaging and highly personalized workplace that supports connection, creativity, and community.

A signature staircase.

A defining feature of the Bumble headquarters, the sculptural staircase required a creative and highly coordinated design approach. The team developed a custom solution to seamlessly integrate new steel paneling with the existing stair structure, transforming a functional element into a bold architectural centerpiece. Careful planning and precision were essential to extending Bumble’s signature hexagonal pattern across the staircase enclosure, creating a cohesive design feature that reinforces the brand identity while elevating the experience of the space.

Designed to feel like home.

From the outset, Bumble envisioned a headquarters that would feel warm, welcoming, and residential rather than a traditional office environment. The design team carefully integrated architectural elements and spatial planning strategies that supported this vision, creating a workplace centered on comfort, connection, and community. Throughout the process, the team balanced Bumble’s design goals with the technical requirements of the project, ensuring the space delivered an engaging user experience while meeting all applicable building codes and municipal regulations.
