Located several miles from downtown Charlottesville and the University of Virginia campus, Cascadia offers a range of residential products within a pedestrian oriented community. The plan incorporates senior housing, condominiums, townhomes and various types of single family oriented toward a village center that features small retail and several churches. The housing products are being designed to be responsive to the steep topography through the use of “park under” units, alley loading, terracing, building splits and “walk out” units.
Cline Design lead the design effort through the county’s Neigl Model rezoning process. This involves creating a Code of Development and an interactive process with the Planning Department, Planning Commission and Architectural Review Board.
